There are two different ways to add recipes to cookbooks in the Simple Recipe app. You can either bulk import multiple recipes using tags or manually select the recipes you want added. Once a cookbook is created, you will not be able to modify tags or import from tags. You’ll need to create an entirely new cookbook if you want to bulk import via tags.
Importing Multiple Recipes Through Tags
Tags make it easy to add multiple recipes to a cookbook at one time. You can’t add recipes through tags to existing cookbooks. You’ll need to create a new cookbook if you want to import from a new set of tags.
- Navigate to the recipes screen
- Tap the plus icon in the bottom right corner of the screen
- Select “Cookbook” to create a new cookbook
- Name your cookbook and select the tag or tags you want to import recipes from. Every recipe from the tag/tags you select will be added to the cookbook
- Tap the “Save” button to save your new cookbook
Manually Selecting Recipes
You may wish to only add a handful of recipes to your cookbook, or you might want to add recipes that aren’t tagged. The best way to do this would be to manually add recipes.
- Select “Add Recipes”
- Search and check the recipes you’d like to add to your cookbook
- Tap “Add” (or “Update” if you’re updating an existing cookbook) to add the recipes
- Tap “Save” to save the additions
